Travel even smarter on board Fal vehicles with Tap&Go and the new APP

Traveling on board Fal vehicles is becoming increasingly smart! During a press conference in Bari, the Fal Tap&Go service was presented, which allows passengers to travel on Ferrovie Appulo Lucane trains and buses by purchasing tickets directly at stations and on board buses using a smartphone or contactless card, along with the new completely redesigned Fal APP, now more efficient and accessible. The press conference was attended by the President of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, Vittorio Zizza; the General Manager, Stefano Di Bello; and the Councilor for Infrastructure and Mobility of the Puglia Region, Raffaele Piemontese. “The new Fal Tap&Go service is a flagship among the many technological innovations we have strongly pursued in recent years to improve services for our users,” said President Vittorio Zizza – Fal is indeed one of the first public transport companies in Southern Italy to introduce the possibility of purchasing tickets directly at turnstiles or on board buses using a phone or credit card across all buses and trains in Puglia and Basilicata. We are certain that this service will prove extremely useful not only for our users but also for the many tourists who, in increasing numbers, visit our regions on board Fal vehicles. Added to this is the release of the new Fal APP, which becomes more accessible, simple, intuitive, and rich in new functions integrated with real-time vehicle route monitoring services and all methods for purchasing our travel tickets.” “With the release of the new Fal APP and the launch of the Fal Tap&Go service,” said General Manager Stefano Di Bello, “we confirm our Company’s commitment to smarter, more transparent mobility that is sensitive to the needs of the territory. These two services bring us ever closer to users in general, and young people in particular, and also respond to the demand for public transport that is now used not only by commuters—who have always been and remain our primary reference—but also by tourists. Regarding Fal Tap&Go, we have done extensive work with all company departments to enable readers on board buses and in stations, both at turnstiles and, where there are no turnstiles, at POS readers positioned near the tracks. We have also provided information signage for users on vehicles and in stations, as well as a communication campaign. At the moment, very few stations/stops between Puglia and Basilicata remain excluded, but we will do everything to enable them. In the new version of the APP, we have improved accessibility and incorporated many reports received from our users of the old version, from whom we naturally expect further feedback, especially as we will continue to improve it in the coming months. Info on the features of Fal Tap&Go and the new Fal APP
With Fal Tap&Go, it is possible to travel on Ferrovie Appulo Lucane trains and buses by purchasing tickets directly at turnstiles and station POS terminals or on board buses, by tapping a contactless card or an enabled smartphone against the readers. By train: simply tap your card or smartphone at the turnstiles or POS readers located near the tracks. The first TAP must be made at the departure station and the second TAP at the arrival station. The fare is calculated based on the route. By bus: upon boarding, select your destination, tap your card or smartphone against the reader, and the system automatically calculates the fare. The service is active on all buses and at stations/stops in Puglia and Basilicata, with the current exception of the following stations/stops: Mellitto, Pescariello, Marinella, Irsina, Genzano di Lucania, Tarantella, Acerenza, Pietragalla, San Nicola, Avigliano Lucania, Tiera, Potenza Macchia Romana, Moccaro.
New Fal App: simpler, more intuitive, and more efficient; it is a true hub for searching for journeys, purchasing tickets, and managing passes. Integration with the Fal Maps service—the innovative Ferrovie Appulo Lucane information system accessible via QR Code at every station and stop—includes the “Real-time” section, also updated, which allows for live monitoring of arrival and departure times for trains and buses from every station/stop. Developed according to the most modern digital accessibility criteria and also integrated with the new FAL Tap&Go service.
