Starting today, at Ferrovie Appulo Lucane railway stations and bus stops in Puglia, simply scan a QR code with your smartphone to view upcoming arrivals at the stop or station. Once you select your desired journey, the service allows you to monitor the status and arrival time of buses and trains at each stop/station in real time. The new service is called Falmaps; it features a simple, intuitive interface and requires no app downloads, website registration, or personal data entry—all you need is a smartphone with an internet connection. FAL is among the first companies in Italy to offer this to users of its intercity replacement bus service and railway service. It is also among the few local public transport companies to have activated a LiveChat service on its website: by clicking the “chat” symbol at the bottom right of every page, a FAL operator is ready to respond to user requests in real time. The service is active every day, including holidays, from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Outside of these hours, the “chat” icon is replaced by an “envelope” icon: by clicking it, you can send a message that will be handled via email by the following day. The two services were presented at a press conference attended by the President of FAL, Vittorio Zizza; the General Manager, Matteo Colamussi; and the Councilor for Transport and Sustainable Mobility of the Puglia Region, Debora Ciliento. “Today we mark an important step forward in improving the quality of our technological services,” said General Manager Matteo Colamussi. “Every user of our services in Puglia and Basilicata will be able to access real-time information on schedules and any delays at each of our stations and stops—which, for the bus service, total 535. We are among the first companies in Italy to offer this to our users, and I believe it is another step not only toward modernization but, above all, toward a service that is increasingly reliable, which we hope will encourage greater use of our transport in Puglia and Basilicata.” “I thank the management of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane,” said President Vittorio Zizza, “for promptly implementing the new Board’s programming.
