Tomorrow, Friday, September 18, at 12:00 PM, the Santa Caterina overpass, built by Ferrovie Appulo Lucane in the Picone district of Bari, will be inaugurated and opened to traffic, coinciding with the removal of the last FAL level crossing in the city of Bari. Speakers will include the President of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, Vittorio Zizza; the General Manager, Stefano Di Bello; the Regional Councilor for Infrastructure and Mobility, Raffaele Piemontese; the Mayor of Bari, Vito Leccese, and the President of the Region, Antonio Decaro. The overpass is just over 80 meters long, with two-way traffic for cars, a sidewalk for pedestrians on one side, and a cycle path on the other. The removal of the level crossing and the simultaneous construction of the overpass are part of an additional intervention compared to the 9 carried out by FAL as part of the Strade Nuove Project, inaugurated in November 2024, and was funded by the Puglia Region with 5.6 million euros.
