Suspension of rail service between Bari and Gravina from June 22

We inform our passengers that, from June 22 to August 30, 2026, rail service between Bari Centrale and Gravina will be temporarily suspended to allow for infrastructure enhancement works.

Trains between Altamura and Matera Sud will continue to operate regularly.

Rail service will be partially reactivated starting August 3, 2026, limited to the Grumo Appula–Gravina section.

During the entire period, a replacement bus service will be activated, according to the procedures and periods specified below.

FROM JUNE 22 TO AUGUST 1, 2026 – TOTAL SUSPENSION OF THE BARI – GRAVINA LINE

During the indicated period, replacement buses departing from Bari Centrale and Gravina will follow the scheduled train times, departing 10 minutes earlier, with the exception of the following services:

Train (replacement bus) no. 101 Bari–Gravina departing at 4:14 AM;

Train (replacement bus) no. 100 Gravina–Bari departing at 4:41 AM;

Train (replacement bus) no. 102 Gravina–Bari departing at 5:51 AM;

Train (replacement bus) no. 111 Bari–Gravina departing at 9:59 AM;

Stops at Mellitto and Pescariello stations are cancelled

FROM AUGUST 3 TO AUGUST 30, 2026 – PARTIAL REOPENING OF THE GRUMO APPULA–GRAVINA SECTION

Following the reactivation of rail service on the Grumo Appula–Gravina section, the replacement bus service will be limited to the Bari Centrale–Grumo Appula section only.

During the indicated period, replacement buses departing from Bari Centrale for Grumo Appula will follow the scheduled train times, departing 10 minutes earlier, with the exception of the following services:

Train (replacement bus) no. 101 Bari–Gravina departing at 4:14 AM;

Train (replacement bus) no. 100 Grumo Appula–Bari departing at 5:23 AM;

Train (replacement bus) no. 111 Bari–Gravina departing at 9:59 AM.

Bari – FS Bus Terminal via Capruzzi (terminus);

Bari Policlinico – via Ennio no. 78 (services departing from Bari);

Bari Policlinico – viale Orazio Flacco no. 6 (services arriving in Bari);

Bari Scalo – via Pasteur (according to the direction of travel);

Modugno – FAL station;

Palo del Colle – FAL station;

Binetto – piazza Umberto (Town Hall stop);

Grumo Appula – via Roma, near the sports field;

Toritto – via G. A. Pugliese no. 314 (arriving services) and no. 267 (departing services);

Altamura – FAL station forecourt;

Gravina – FAL station forecourt (terminus).

DIRECT TRAINS MATERA – BARI AND VICE VERSA FROM JUNE 22 TO AUGUST 30

Direct trains no. 12 Matera Sud–Bari at 7:45 AM and no. 47 Bari–Matera Sud at 6:55 PM will be cancelled along the entire route and replaced by buses, with no changes to departure times, and will make the following stops.

Altamura (FAL station)

Toritto (via G. Pugliese no. 314 or no. 267)

Bari Scalo (viale Pasteur)

In addition, train no. 22 (Matera – Altamura) will be replaced by bus and will observe the following schedule: departure at 10:56 AM (Matera Sud) – 11:05 AM (Matera Centrale) – 11:12 AM (Matera Villa Longo) – 11:42 AM (Altamura);

In order to facilitate mobility in the presence of a higher influx of passengers and tourists traveling to Matera, additional replacement services will be established that will not make intermediate stops on the Bari – Matera section.

Replacement bus 111/25 (direct) departing from the Bari Bus Terminal at 9:59 AM for Matera (stops only at Villa Longo, Matera Centrale, and Matera Sud);

Replacement bus 113/29 (direct) departing from the Bari Bus Terminal at 10:38 AM for Matera (stops only at Villa Longo, Matera Centrale, and Matera Sud);

Replacement bus 38/126 (direct) departing from Matera Sud at 3:19 PM for Bari (stops only at Villa Longo, Matera Centrale, Matera Sud, and Bari Bus Terminal);

Replacement bus 40/128 (direct) departing from Matera Sud at 4:04 PM for Bari (stops only at Villa Longo, Matera Centrale, Matera Sud, and Bari Bus Terminal);

Passengers are reminded that only folding bicycles are allowed on replacement buses, provided they are placed in the appropriate bag and do not exceed dimensions of 70 × 50 × 30 cm.
