RAIL SERVICE BETWEEN ALTAMURA AND MATERA WILL RESUME ON SEPTEMBER 15. IN THE MEANTIME, BUS SERVICE IS AVAILABLE

The resumption of rail service on the Altamura–Matera route has been postponed to September 15. The renewal works on the network have been completed and we are in the final phase of technical testing necessary to verify compliance with the interventions and ensure full functionality of the systems. Three additional days beyond the initially planned schedule are required to guarantee users a more reliable and comfortable service. Naturally, substitute bus services will continue to operate until September 15. The extraordinary maintenance works on the railway line covered approximately 12 kilometers and involved the replacement of the ballast, sleepers, and rails; they were financed by the Puglia Region through Ministerial Decree 332 of 2024 with 9 million 750 thousand euros.
