“This completely renewed station with an investment of more than 700 thousand euros of company assets, is another step of the renovation path realized by FAL in the last years and that in this period involves us in more than 10 yards for the laying of a second railway line between Bari and Matera, engaging in ensuring the regular running of means”. It was said by the President of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane, Matteo Colamussi, who has presented to the press the new station of Gravina together with the regional councillor to Mobility Gianni Giannini and the Mayor of Gravina, Alessio Valente. “Our mission is to consider the user as a client – Colamussi has added – and is concretized in this model of station we are replicating in restructured and in phase of restoration: accessibility, innovation and sustainability are the watchwords”. The new railway station of Gravina has been remarkably renovated in compliance with the “FAL model” of the new stations, with a “green” cut, very high safety standards, services, innovation, sustainability, accessibility.

Below, the details of the intervention on the station of Gravina:

• Works realized for a total amount or €700thousand with FAL funds (nota di servizio: per un refuso nella scheda precedentemente inviata era indicata una cifra inferiore);
• Complete restoration of the station started in March 2017, ended in December 2017 and consisting in:
• Modernization of the station and of the surrounding spaces
• Total makeover of the roof
• Elimination of the architectural barriers in favour of the users with reduced motor skills
• Installation of solar panels and led lighting systems for energy saving
• Reduction of acoustic pollution
• Installation of bike racks
• Video surveillance system with cameras linked to a system of more than 1000 cameras controlled by an in-house operating hall
• Installation of turnstiles
• Installation of automatic ticket offices
• Activation of free Wi-Fi
• Installation of Oscar, little trees for the free recharge of smartphones and tablets
• Moreover, inside the story an old manual switch, recovered and restored is put on display
