NEW FALMAPS SERVICES, LIVE CHAT, AND REAL-TIME UPDATES PRESENTED IN POTENZA. SCAN THE QR CODE AT STOPS TO TRACK YOUR BUS AND TRAIN

Starting today, at Ferrovie Appulo Lucane railway stations and bus stops in Basilicata, simply scan a QR code with your smartphone to view departures and arrivals at that stop/station, as well as subsequent runs. Once a specific journey is selected, the service allows you to monitor the status and arrival time of buses and trains at each stop/station in real time. This new service is called Falmaps; it features a simple, intuitive interface and requires no app downloads, website registration, or personal data entry—only a smartphone with an internet connection. FAL is among the first companies in Italy to offer this to users of its intercity replacement bus and railway services. It is also among the few public transport companies to have activated a Live Chat service on its website: by clicking the “chat” symbol located at the bottom right of every page, a FAL operator is ready to respond to user inquiries in real time. The service is active daily, including holidays, from 5:00 AM to 11:00 PM. Outside of these hours, the chat icon is replaced by an “envelope” icon: by clicking it, users can send a message that will be handled via email by the following day. Furthermore, as part of the new information services dedicated to users, the vehicle geolocation service (already active for trains) is being extended to buses in Basilicata today. This will allow users, via the FAL app and website, to track trains and buses in real time to verify punctuality, as well as any delays and/or cancellations. The new services were presented at a press conference at the FAL Gallitello Terminal in Potenza, attended by the President of FAL, Sen. Vittorio Zizza; the General Manager, Eng. Stefano Di Bello; the Councilor for Mobility of the Municipality of Potenza, Atty. Francesco Giuzio; and the Head of the Transport Office of the Basilicata Region, Eng. Donato Arcieri. Also present was a delegation of students and teachers from the “Galileo Galilei” Scientific High School in Potenza and ‘Radio Galilei’, the school’s official radio station, led by Professor Rosalba Forziato. “The activation of these services,” said President Vittorio Zizza, “closely follows the strengthening of the metropolitan railway service in Potenza and Matera. This is a sign that our company, as always in perfect harmony with the Region, is completing the project to provide Basilicata with a light rail service as well as a modern intercity and interregional public transport service. I thank the management of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane for promptly implementing the new Board’s programming. We are increasingly expanding services and real-time information for users, who we hope will continue to grow in number. Falmaps is a tool accessible to everyone that empowers users and assists the increasing number of tourists visiting this beautiful region.” “With the launch of these new information services,” said General Manager Stefano Di Bello, “we are taking another significant step forward in improving service quality through technology, as well as toward dialogue and transparency with our users. We are giving them the ability not only to know the routes of our buses and trains stop by stop and station by station, but also to monitor travel times and any delays. Every user of FAL transport in Basilicata will have access to real-time information at 18 railway stations and 233 bus stops. We are among the first companies in Italy to offer this possibility to our users, and I believe it is a further piece in the modernization of a service that is becoming increasingly reliable, which we hope will contribute to greater use of public transport in Puglia and Basilicata.” “The Basilicata Region,” said the Head of the Transport Office of the Basilicata Region, Eng. Donato Arcieri, “is very attentive to new technologies that improve the relationship with users, both to increase public transport shares and to make it more innovative and modern. In particular, ‘real-time’ updates at stops and digital applications that allow for vehicle monitoring are fundamental. We are continuing this long-standing synergy with FAL, which will certainly find new momentum in the new regional programming, utilizing both FSC and ERDF funds in the field of ITS and integrated electronic ticketing and fare systems.” “An important step for the entire community,” added the Councilor for Mobility of the Municipality of Potenza, Atty. Francesco Giuzio, “to which the Municipality of Potenza has guaranteed support and collaboration by making the signposts of its own urban bus service available. We welcome these FAL infomobility initiatives; the company continues to be a pioneer in these types of trials: first with bicycles and now with these services. We can only be inspired and keep pace with the impact this company is having on our territory through the increase in urban services, the renewal of the fleet, and all other investments.”
