Temporary Bus Route Diversions in Matera for “I° Trofeo Stella Polare” Event

Dear passengers, please be advised that due to the “I° Trofeo Stella Polare” event, the Municipality of Matera has ordered the closure of the city centre to vehicular traffic on:

  • Sunday, 22 June 2025, from 10:00 to 13:30.

During this time, all affected FAL bus services will follow these alternative routes:

Services departing from Matera to Bari:

  • Temporary Departure Terminus: in front of Matera Centrale FAL Railway Station, on Viale Aldo Moro (towards Via U. La Malfa).

  • Then continue via: Via U. La Malfa → Via Dante Alighieri → Via Don Luigi Sturzo → Villa Longo FAL Station → S.S. 99/96 towards Bari.

Services arriving in Matera from Bari:

  • Enter via: S.S. 96/99 → Villa Longo FAL Station → Via Don Luigi Sturzo → Via Dante Alighieri → Via U. La Malfa (near Carabinieri station).

  • Temporary Arrival Terminus: Viale Aldo Moro, at Matera Centrale FAL Bus Shelter.

  • Buses will then perform a U-turn at the “Il Pino” roundabout to reach the Temporary Departure Terminus for Bari-bound buses, located opposite the temporary arrival terminus on Viale Aldo Moro (in front of Matera Centrale FAL Station).

Additional Changes:

  • Bus no. 320 (Montescaglioso città → Matera Villa Longo), scheduled at 12:05, and

  • Bus no. 321 (Matera Villa Longo → Pisticci Scalo), scheduled at 12:48,

will follow, depending on direction, this alternative route:

  • Via Montescaglioso → Via Carlo Levi → Via Annibale Maria di Francia → Via Timmari → Viale Aldo Moro (temporary stop at Matera Centrale FAL Bus Shelter) → Via U. La Malfa → Via Dante Alighieri → Via Don Luigi Sturzo → Villa Longo FAL Station, before rejoining their usual route.
