Strike Notice – USB Puglia and Basilicata – Friday, 20 June 2025

In accordance with Art.9 of the provisional regulations adopted by Commission Resolution no. 18/138 of 23 April 2018.

Dear passengers, please be informed that on Friday, 20 June 2025, the trade union “Unione Sindacale di Base Lavoro Privato (USB LP)” in the regions of Puglia and Basilicata will participate in a general 24-hour strike for the entire working day, involving all public and private sectors. This strike has been called by the Confederazione Unitaria di Base (CUB), Sindacato Generale di Base (SGB), and Unione Sindacale di Base (USB).

Reasons for the strike include:

  • Opposition to the ongoing violence and genocide in Palestine.

  • Opposition to war, the war economy, and rising military expenditures.

  • Advocacy for peace in the Russia-Ukraine conflict and increased investment in healthcare, education, transportation, and welfare.

  • Opposition to labour exploitation, job insecurity, and wage stagnation.

  • Opposition to the lack of effective social policies.

  • Opposition to the lack of industrial strategies addressing ongoing transitions and high levels of social conflict.

  • Opposition to authoritarian policies restricting dissent and social protest.

  • Opposition to workplace fatalities.

  • Opposition to the “Sbarra Law”

Please note the participation rates recorded by these trade unions in their most recent strike were:

  • Puglia: 11.34%

  • Basilicata: 3.23%

All transport services will be guaranteed during legally defined minimum service hours:

  • Morning: 05:30–08:30

  • Afternoon: 12:30–15:30

Services will resume as normal upon conclusion of the strike action.
