Notice of railway line interruption MATERA – ALTAMURA

We inform our valued passengers that, due to a collision involving a road vehicle at a railway bridge and in order to allow technical inspections of the railway infrastructure, the train service on the Matera Sud – Altamura route is temporarily suspended until further notice. The service is temporarily replaced by buses that will make the following stops:
- MATERA Sud (terminal for departure and/or arrival via della Quercia);
- Matera C.le (for services departing from Matera: stops at via delle Nazioni Unite and via A. Moro; for incoming services: stop at via A. Moro);
- Matera Villa Longo via Nazionale FAL station square;
- ALTAMURA (arrival and/or departure terminal FAL station square).
Please note that the departure time of replacement buses from Matera Sud has been moved forward by 15 minutes.
Reverse route for Altamura – Matera Sud services.
Furthermore, trains 12 and 47 will be cancelled for the entire route and replaced with buses on Friday 28 and Saturday 29 November 2025:
- Train no. 12 (Matera Sud – Bari Centrale at 7:45, moved forward to 7:30)
- Train no. 47 (Bari Centrale – Matera Sud at 18:55)
These buses make the following stops:
- Matera Sud (via della Quercia)
- Matera C.le (via delle Nazioni Unite) / (via A. Moro)
- Matera Villa Longo (via Nazionale, FAL station square)
- Altamura (FAL station square)
- Toritto (via G.A. Pugliese, no. 267 / 314)
- Bari Scalo (viale Pasteur, AMTAB stop)
- Bari C.le (viale Orazio Flacco, no. 6 – Policlinico) / (arrival and departure terminal at corso Italia FAL station between nos. 70/104)
- In this case as well, the reverse route is available for services from Bari to Matera Sud.
Metropolitan trains between Venusio and Matera Sud are guaranteed in any case.
Please be reminded that on buses only folding bicycles are permitted, provided they are contained in the appropriate bag and their dimensions do not exceed 70 x 50 x 30 cm.
